National Constitution Center - Philadelphia
The National Constitution Center's location, near the Independence Visitor Center, Independence Hall and the new Liberty Bell Center, is a keen reminder of the important role that Philadelphia played in the birth and early development of the United States and our system of government.
Swann Fountain (Logan Circle)
Logan Circle is one of Penn's original five squares (Northwest Square), and it, too, was once used as a burying ground. In 1821 the ground was being used as a pasture — difficult to imagine today — and on February 7, 1823, William Gross was hanged here — the last public execution held on the spot. Whether William was also buried in the square we don't know. In 1825 it was renamed for James Logan and 17 years later it was a punishable offense to take a cow, horse, cart wagon or carriage into the square. Eventually the graves, mounds and hillocks were removed or leveled. And now it is one of the most beautiful spots in the city. The square has become a circle, the Swann Memorial Fountain by Alexander Stirling Calder, a graceful aerial water ballet, the flower beds among the most brilliant in Philadelphia. It is a medallion in the parkway's necklace of gems.

A Evening With Carol Riddick
This Philadelphia native singer/songwriter has repeatedly broken through barriers, to become known internationally. She has a silky sound that will captivate you from the first note that escapes her lips. Her performance brings out the passion that is expressed in every word of her lyrics. These two combinations are extraordinary and rare to find in today's artists. You will experience the engaging sound of "Vintage Soul". If you are yearning for good music, please allow me to introduce Carol Riddick.
Carol began her career performing with local bands. It was after her performance at a wedding that she met James Lassiter who managed Jeff Townes and Will Smith a/k/a "Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince". That introduction led to studio session work at Jeff Townes' production company, "A Touch of Jazz, Inc.". She began to tour with the duo, and was the featured vocalist at the wedding of Will Smith. Carol's local buzz quickly spread on a national level which resulted in her signing a recording contract with Motown Records. She received high acclaim from the dance single "Take Your Time", which was released in the United Kingdom. It received rave reviews and appeared on the charts for several weeks.
She has written for and with a wide range of artists, including Terry Ellis of En Vogue. The song, "Tomorrow" which appeared on Terry's Debut CD "Southern Gal", was thought by many to be the crown jewel of the album. She was also the featured artist on the following projects: "Loving You" (Larry Gold presents Don Cello and Friends), "Can You Come Over" (Jeff Bradshaw's "Bone Deep") and "Float" (Grammy-nominated artist, Anthony Hamilton's debut CD, "Comin' From Where I'm From"). Carol's contribution to both Larry Gold and Jeff Bradshaw's projects expanded even further, as she co-wrote the songs on which she appeared. She can be heard frequently with Multi-platinum selling recording artist, Musiq, on "Soulstar", "Bestfriend", "Dontchange" and "Youloveme". Additional collaborations include: "Family Song (Reprise)" from Kindred The Family Soul's album ("Surrender To Love"), Jill Scott's ("Experience Jill Scott 826+") and Norman Brown's "I Might", which received medium rotation airplay throughout the country.
Carol has worked with and/or shared the stage with various artists and producers including, Brian McKnight, Myron, James Poyser, Keith Crouch, Mario Winans, Malik Pendleton, Yolanda Adams, Herb Middleton, and a host of others. Her talents have been shared on stages throughout the world. While she has worked with many artists, she would love the opportunity to work with Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson and John Mayer.
Her upcoming CD, "Moments Like This", which she co-produced, will be released in Summer 2005. She wrote 13 of the 14 songs, further showcasing her ability to translate emotion into words. This emotion shines through on songs like "I Believe in Me" and "It's Okay". Other songs on the album, including "All I Want To Be", "Brown Eyed Girl" and the title song "Moments Like This", serve as a strong reminder that Carol is a woman who understands herself. Once you begin to wander through her beautifully-woven array of music and soul, you will surely understand her as well.
She has remained steadfast and strong in pursuing her dreams. Please accept this invitation to get to know Carol Riddick.

June Pointer Dies @ 52!
(Born: November 30, 1953) The youngest of the four Pointer Sisters is June. She and her sister Bonnie originally sang as a duo, calling themselves Pointers-A Pair (see group bio).
June, known by some fans as the energetic rock & roller, has stepped out on her own many times, even posing in Playboy magazine. Her solo recording career debuted with the release of 1983's Baby Sister on Planet Records. The single "Ready for Some Action" reached the Top 30 on the R&B charts. Another song from the album "I'm Ready for Love," can be found on The Very Best of The Pointer Sisters, released on RCA in 1996.
In 1986, the Pointers, with June on lead vocal, joined Bruce Willis for the lively "Respect Yourself." The single, from Willis' debut, The Return of Bruno, reached the Top Five on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart, and June's solo performance in the video helped it become one of MTV's most popular clips at the time. A year later, June recorded a duet with Dionne Warwick, "Heartbreak of Love," for Dionne's 1987 album, Reservations for Two.
June's second solo release was 1989's June Pointer (Columbia Records). The album was executive produced by Carol Bayer Sager and features a potpourri of other producers, including Narada Michael Walden, Kashif, David Foster and Rhett Lawrence. Released to enthusiastic reviews from fans and critics alike, the album spawned the R&B chart single, "Tight On Time (I'll Fit U In)."
June is no longer a member of The Pointer Sisters. She is pursuing a solo career.
Some songs that are fan favorites with June on lead vocal: "Jump (For My Love)", "Dare Me", "He's So Shy", "Happiness", "Fall In Love Again" and "Baby Come And Get It".
